Prior to establishing The Leumas Group, Reggie served as an Investment Officer of Sam Zell’s Equity Residential (EQR). Equity, a S&P 500 company, is the largest publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust in the United States. Over the past decade, Mr. Samuel has been directly involved in over $3.0 Billion in apartment transactions.

Reggie has been an active leader within the apartment investment industry since his undergraduate experience at Virginia Tech, where he received a full scholarship and graduated from the Real Estate Property Management (RPM) program. While pursuing his degree and solidifying his leadership skills as a member of the Virginia Tech football team that played in the College Football National Championship, Reggie obtain his initial exposure to the multifamily investment sector by working part-time at an apartment community in Blacksburg, VA.  Upon graduating from Virginia Tech, he initiated his full-time real estate career with Archstone-Smith (ASN).

Mr. Samuel currently serves as the Managing Partner of The Leumas Group (pronounced loo-mas), which is a holding company comprised of Leumas Residential, Leumas Properties, and Leumas Capital.  The firm provides affordable housing development consulting, building operations, and real estate investment management services to governments, pension plans, and institutional investors.

In 2015, Reggie was appointed by Governor Terry McAuliffe to serve as a Board Member, Investment Advisory Committee Member, and Compensation Committee Member of the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan, which is the largest ($53 Billion) 529 College Savings and Investment Plan in the United States.

Mr. Samuel resides in Fredericksburg, VA with his wife Athena and their five children.
